MainStream® Water Purification Device – Discontinued (not available after July 07)

The MainStream Water Purification Device is the first hand-held, point-of-use water purification device to be cleared by FDA for the production of Sterile Purified Water (USP) in the field. Developed under US Office of Naval Research funding, MainStream is designed to deliver real-time access, ease-of-use, medical mobility and adaptability to emerging combat casualty treatment trends. MainStream is the first device in a pipeline of emergency therapeutic products that serve the need for pharmaceutical defense systems for the battlefield as well as for public safety. MainStream is a lightweight, gravity flow device that produces 3 liters of Sterile Purified Water and was cleared by FDA for a wide variety of applications where sterile water is required, including cleaning and rinsing of wounds, rinsing of surgical instruments, as a diluent for oral nutritional supplements, vaccinations and drug preparations, and for other uses of sterile purified water deemed necessary by clinical practitioners.

PRISMEDICAL holds many patents relating to fluid therapy and drug delivery and is currently restructuring its medical/pharmaceutical operations.
