The TRITON® M Portable Water Filter System

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – August 7, 2007 — Maintaining an adequate supply of safe, purified water for drinking and cooking in the outdoors used to be a chore. The new TRITON M water purification system from PRISMEDICAL Corporation provides an easy, fast and effective means to produce safe, great tasting water anytime, anywhere.
The unit’s simplicity, portability and versatility make the TRITON M ideal for outdoor enthusiasts, international travelers and families during emergencies. Unlike most portable water filters and purifiers, there are no pumps or batteries required. Operation of the TRITON M is simple and setup is quick and easy. The system’s in-line modular design relies on gravity to provide a steady, reliable flow of clean, great tasting water.
The TRITON M purification system protects against all types of waterborne contaminants including viruses, bacteria, cysts and particulates. Depending on the application, users can select from three modules to obtain the desired level of protection and purification. The different modules, each of which targets a separate category of waterborne contaminants, can be attached together or used individually.
The TRITON MC Hydration Pack Water Filter uses specially formulated Activated Granular Carbon to improve aesthetics in already safe drinking water. It is particularly effective at removing the unpleasant tastes and odors of chlorine and other drinking water disinfectants that are common in tap water. It reduces foul tastes and odors associated with hydration reservoir and drink tube biofilms and it also reduces pesticides, herbicides and volatile organic compounds (VOC’s).
When tap water is unavailable or source water is suspect, TRITON M becomes a portable water purification system by adding the hollow fiber module to the carbon module and using a powerful anti-virus treatment. The hollow fiber module employs the same filter technology used by hospitals for dialysis, effectively removing more than 99.9% of Giardia, Cryptosporidium and other Cysts, and 99.9999% of bacteria and particulates greater than 0.2 microns in size.
For the ultimate level of purity and safety, users can add the TRITON M Resin Module to the Carbon and Hollow Fiber Modules. The Resin Module reduces lead, arsenic and other chemicals and heavy metals. The TRITON M purification system offers consumers unprecedented functionality and versatility and can be configured for mobile or static use by individuals or small groups.
During mobile use, paddlers, fishermen, mountain bikers and other hydration pack users who require ‘hands-free’ hydration will appreciate the unit’s universal barbs that attach quickly and easily to any commercially available hydration pack drink tube.
For static or camp use, the complete, “multi-purpose” TRITON M system ideally serves small groups or families during outdoor excursions or emergency situations. This configuration includes two durable 3 liter (0.8 USG) bags — one to gather contaminated source water and the other to capture purified water. The source water bag can be conveniently hung from a tree limb or doorknob. After easily attaching the desired filtration modules to the source water bag, users can then capture safe, purified water in the clean water bag or any suitable container.
This set up takes just minutes and with a flow rate of up to a liter (.25 gal.) per minute, the system quickly produces enough water for one or more persons. No prolonged dwell times, stooping over streams or arduous pumping is required.
