PRISMEDICAL Launches The TRITON® M Portable Water Purification System For Camping, Emergency Preparedness and Relief, International Travel and Military Customers
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – August 7, 2007 — The new TRITON® M portable water filtration and purification systems from PRISMEDICAL Corporation provide clean, great tasting drinking water from virtually any fresh water source. Featuring an industry first modular in-line design, the TRITON M system allows users to increase the level of protection against waterborne contaminants depending on quality of source water-a feature not currently available in the outdoor consumer market.
Ranging from 8.3 ounces to 13 ounces, the various TRITON M purification systems are extremely lightweight and compact. Constructed of durable military grade ABS thermoplastic, it is the only portable water purification system that fully addresses all four major categories of waterborne contaminants: micro-organisms (including viruses, bacteria, and cysts), organics, inorganics and particulates.
TRITON M systems are ideal for hikers, international travelers, tactical and military personnel, families and emergency response teams. Unlike many traditional water filtration and purification systems, TRITON M systems have no mechanical pumps and no batteries are required. Instead, the units rely on gravity or suction to move water through a series of filtration modules, each of which targets a different type of contaminant.
Retail prices range from $39.99 to $89.99 depending upon product configuration. TRITON M products will be distributed through outdoor retailers and specialty web retailers. The company is also targeting international traveler outlets and military sales channels.
The purification system consists of a powerful anti-virus treatment and three individual modules that can be used separately or in combination to remove contaminants and improve the aesthetics (taste, odor, clarity) of drinking water. Depending on the configuration, TRITON M systems can achieve flow rates of up to 1 liter (0.25 USG) per minute and volume output of approximately 500 liters (130 USG). Individual modules can be easily and inexpensively replaced as needed.

TRITON MC Hydration Pack Water Filter — consists of a single Carbon module that will improve the aesthetic quality of typical drinking water. At slightly over 6 inches in length and weighing only 3 ounces, the MC is designed to be easily inserted into the drink tube of virtually any hydration pack or reservoir.
TRITON M1 Hydration Pack Water Purification System — Includes an anti-virus treatment the effectively inactivates greater than 99.99% of waterborne viruses and a single hollow fiber module capable of filtering particulates and microbiological contaminants greater than 0.2 Microns. Like the MC, the M1 is meant to be used with hydration packs. It affords hikers, paddlers and other outdoor enthusiasts the safety and flexibility of mobile purification with the convenience of hands-free hydration.
TRITON M2 Hydration Pack Water Purification System — This product includes the carbon module, hollow fiber module and anti-virus treatment. The two module variation is designed for the user who seeking the purification and filtration benefits of the M1 and the aesthetic benefits of the MC. Combined, the two filters weigh just over 4 ounces and are designed for use with hydration packs and reservoirs.
This product includes both the carbon and hollow fiber micro filter modules. The two filters combined weigh only 13 ounces and can be easily carried in a backpack or travel bag.
TRITON M2 Multi-Purpose Water Purification System — Two plastic bags (one for source water and another for collecting clean, purified water) are added along with a convenient storage sack to the basic M2 system to enable both mobile and static (e.g. camp) use.
TRITON M2 Multi-Purpose Water Purification System — Offering the highest level of protection against waterborne microbial contaminants, it is ideal for emergency preparation and disaster response. When local water supplies are contaminated, the TRITON M2 eliminates the need to boil water and can easily provide enough purified water for a family or group.
TRITON M2 Traveler — It is essentially the same as an M2 Multi-purpose that uses a smaller, more convenient 1-liter source and clean water pouches instead of the typical 3-liter bags. International travelers will appreciate the nylon case that keeps the filter modules, plastic bags, tubes and clamps organized for easy use. It is small enough to fit in a suitcase or carry on bag.
TRITON M3 Multi-purpose Water Purification System — This product contains all three TRITON M modules (carbon, hollow fiber microfilter and resin).
